QAF Eurokars Sdn Bhd, the official agent for Porsche vehicles in Brunei, has unveiled its all-new generation of the Porsche Boxster models – the 718 Boxster and 718 Boxster S.
Clement Chong, Deputy General Manager of QAF EuroKars said in his speech, “The 718 badge carries with it deep racing roots and rich motoring heritage. The new 718 Boxster and 718 Boxster S are well-poised to carry on its impressive legacy.
“Open, carefree and adventurous, they are lighter and can go further faster and more efficiently thanks to the intelligent use of the right materials. They don’t excel and belong only on the track, but also on everyday city roads as well,” he added.
He also added that the new 718 Boxster and 718 Boxster S are engineered to unite the sporting spirit of the legendary Porsche 718 with the sports car of tomorrow, saying that “they are not intended to be confined to a sheltered garage, but rather for the pleasure of everyday driving,”.
Under the hood, the four-cylinder engine with turbocharger produces 220 kW (300hp) of power from two litres engine displacement, while the 718 Boxster S attains 257 kW (350hp) from 2.5 litres of displacement.
The 718 Boxster sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of is 275 km/h, while the 718 Boxster S version comes in at 4.2 seconds and peaks at 285 km/h.
Celebrating the arrival of the 718 model line, Porsche Asia Pacific has launched an online racing game titled the 718 Challenge, where Porsche fans and enthusiasts are invited to put their driving skills to the test online while maneuvering the new Boxster S and 718 Cayman S down twisting roads.
